Cochrane Light Up is coming back in full force this year with an in-person event planned for November 26, 2022.

But one question has been on the mind of every Cochranite since the announcement of the events return-

What about the free hot dogs?

After previously announcing the absence of the fan favourite food, Light Up chair Stephenie Shelstad is excited to declare the return of the hot dog. “The Light Up committee has decided we are going to do hot dogs”

Shelstad says the committee is best suited to undertake the monster job of bringing over 12,000 hotdogs to downtown Cochrane.

“We need to get a trailer because to move 12,000 hot dog buns, we actually need a 20-foot covered trailer to transport the buns alone.”

While the hotdogs will be back in full force, Shelstad is hopeful that some local businesses will step up to cover hot chocolate.

“We can't rent enough equipment to do hot chocolate at the rate we need it successfully. So that's one of the main reasons for not doing it.”

There is still space available for Cochrane businesses to sponsor tables and more at the event. Anyone interested can contact the Cochrane Light Up committee here.
