A Cochrane man is now a millionaire after playing the Scratch ’N Win lottery game.

Gary Forget purchased the $250 Million Golden Treasures Scratch ’N win lottery ticket from the Mac's at 58 West Aarsby Road, and claimed the instant game's $2.5 million top prize.

Forget says he first saw a commerical for the game and joked with his wife about winning.

“I was watching TV with my wife, and something about the commercial caught my attention,” he said. “I told her, ‘I’m going to win a big prize on that one,’”.

His predictions turned out to be true, Forget explains he was shocked.

“It was just unbelievable,” he says. “I don’t really know how to describe my reaction, I think I must have been in shock. I started shaking, and I pinched myself. I think I had a little cry.”

Forget shares the first thing he'll do with his money is help is family.

“It will let me look after them, take care of our kids, and help with our grandkids’ education,” he says. “I’ll probably retire, but I’m going to let this sink in for a while first.”

Forget says after all that, he might also buy himself a new car.
