Cochrane RCMP are turning to the public for help to track down two missing girls and two missing women.

Mounties were called out to the report of the missing persons on Saturday.

Officers believe five-year-old Leonine O’Driscoll-Zak and two-year-old Wyatt O’Driscoll-Zak are with their grandmother and their aunt.

The pair, 68-year-old Therese O'Driscoll and 38-year-old Alison O'Driscoll were last seen with the girls at around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 12 at the children's home in a rural area near Cochrane.

The disappearance of the children is being investigated as an abduction involving their grandmother and their aunt.

Cst. Shelley Nasheim says there's no reason to suspect the children are at risk of harm. "Not at this time. There's been no indication that there's any concern for the children's safety at this time. Right now, it's just to confirm that this is indeed what is going on and just check on their welfare."

Officers say the alleged abduction stems from custody issues.
