Families accessing services from the Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre can now enjoy a bigger and brighter space.

After 19 years in the Sheridan Mall, they have now moved locations and are located along Grande Blvd. above Two Pharmacy.

Nathan Klassen, interim executive director says "We announced the signing of the lease and the new space on the horizon when we did our fundraising gala back in March. So within basically two months we have been able to do all of that improvement work and pack up the old space and move. It's been a flurry of activity."

He says the new location will allow them to expand their services.

"The space is in fact larger than our previous space which will allow us in each of our different areas of serving our clients currently to expand that physical footprint but also the number of clients we can serve. It does provide some opportunity to discuss what are the other things that we wanted to do that are complimentary services to our current offerings, that this new space will allow us to do."

"There's a large meeting room and training room. There's a larger boutique area where mother's can come and choose clothing for their babies and themselves."

The centre has felt a 15 to 25 per cent increase in demand in the services they provide over the last year.

They are hoping to host a grand opening event for the public but they're not sure how that will look just yet based on restrictions.

The hope is to host it near the end of June or in early July.

The board is also looking at ways to honour the recent passing of their President at their new location.

Cathy Adlington was president of the CPCC for six years and passed away suddenly in May.
