Over the weekend, Cochrane RCMP arrested a Calgary man wanted in connection to two random assaults that happened in the city. Cory Carl Szabo, 38, of Calgary was located just outside of Cochrane along the Trans-Canada Highway.

Corporal Troy Savinkfoff of the Cochrane RCMP says that Szabo put up a fight before he was arrested. “When our officer approached Mr.Szabo, Mr. Szabo was quite confrontational and actually engaged in assaultive behaviour towards our member. Luckily, a member of the public was able to pull over on the side of the road and offer our officer some assistance and both the officer and member of the public were able to arrest Mr.Szabo and bring him into custody.”

Cory Carl Szabo remains in custody, with charges pending.
