Cochrane RCMP entered into a joint drug trafficking investigation with Calgary Police Service District Operations following the death of a person who was suspected to have died from an accidental fentanyl overdose. The investigation led to a search warrant being executed at a residence in Calgary on October. 5, 2022.

After searching the premises, authorities discovered and seized 116 grams of fentanyl, 364 grams of methamphetamine, and 316 grams of cocaine.

24-year-old Owen Michael Tracy of Calgary has been charged with the following: Production of a controlled substance, 4x possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance. 2x Possession of a thing intended to be used to traffic a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.

Kudzaiishe Thomas Ngara, also 24 years old and from Calgary has been charged with numerous offenses. 4x Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance and 2x possession of a thing intended to be used to traffic a controlled substance.

Tracy and Ngara have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on November 15, 2022.
