Cochrane's Social Recovery Task Force (SRTF) has launched a second survey to better understand the impact that COVID-19 continues to have on Cochrane residents.

They released an initial survey back in June and used the feedback from residents to develop a number of local programs and resources to meet the community's changing social needs.

The questions are specific to how the pandemic has affected residents' mental, physical and financial stresses as well as their connection to the Cochrane community.

Kim Krawec is the Manager of Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), and she says that residents can share their personal experiences on life has changed for them since the first survey was released.

"It’s important we keep our community and the services they need top of mind to ensure we maintain quality of life," says Krawec. "Monitoring the changing needs of residents through surveys is critical not only to the health of Cochrane in the short-term but also to creating a sustainable future for all residents for years to come."

The results of the first survey showed that Cochranites were feeling overwhelmed during isolation. Residents voiced missing family, friends and community as major concerns.

The majority of survey participants also showed optimism in Cochrane’s resilience during these trying times.

The second survey aims to help the town, as well as local agencies, to support Cochrane's most vulnerable and at-risk populations by identifying and responding to their emerging needs.

Cochrane residents can weigh in on the survey until December 17, 2020. To participate in the online survey you can click here.
