A chilly day did not stop Cochranites from putting on rainbow socks and an assortment of rainbow gear to walk and support Cochrane’s youth. The Rainbow Sock Walk, an event put together by a group of Cochrane High students was held Tuesday afternoon and saw a large turnout of people of all ages.

This event was put together as a response to a social media post detailing the bullying of a Cochrane youth. The 12-year-old wore rainbow socks on their walk home from school when four teenage boys followed and verbally harassed the youth.

The Rainbow Sock Walk was a rallying cry for Cochranites to gather, show how this behaviour is unacceptable and that no one should feel unsafe while walking home in Cochrane.
