A motor vehicle collision that occured around Horse Creek Road and Highway 1A left many people without power today (August 24).

Fortis' Director of Communications, Jennifer McGowan says the collision caused the power pole to come down..

"It occurred from about 11:30 and 11:55 this morning and affected 2700 customers in the communities of Heritage Hills, Sunset and Heartland."

McGowan did say that roughly 25 customers were affected into the afternoon hours as they had to wait to reconnect those customers. Fortis says that all homes should be fully restored, but if you are still experiencing power issues contact Fortis here.
