Strong interest in the Cochrane Crossing civic plaza art task force saw town council increase its size to six from four members-at-large.

A total of 24 people expressed interest in sitting on the short-term task force that will review submissions and bring back recommendations to the council for art that will be installed at the plaza.

It was Councillor Susan Flowers who pushed to increase the size of the task force. She said there were so many talented community-minded people wanting to get involved that it would be difficult to even narrow it down to six.

The rest of council agreed and by secret ballot selected Lucie Bause, Barbara Greendale, Rochelle Lynne Zemlak, Dr. Kaarina-Nancy Bauer, Patrick Price, and Wendi Forster. Councillor Marni Fedeyko will represent town council and Morgan Nagel will be her alternate.

Town administration had recommended selecting four community members to ensure succinct decision-making. The task force description left open the option of including up to six.
