With less than 36 hours remaining in Participaction's Community Better Challenge, Cochrane still has a chance to be named Canada's Most Active Community.

That's what makes it so important to log into Participaction to register your minutes before the stroke of midnight on June 30th.

Ashley Fox, vice-president of Cochrane Sport4Life, says Cochranites have definitely been highly active, and just need to record those minutes with Participaction to help get us over the top.

"I think for a lot of people, June has been a fun-filled month. We've two days left in the Community Better Challenge and we're so excited for all the partners and organizations that have participated so far, and seeing people out being active, but we really need them to log their minutes. We're still in the running to be Canada's Most Active Community, but every minute counts."

People can record every minute they were enjoying activities from June 1 to June 30.

"Maybe your family has been out hiking or your kids have been participating in a local sport, or maybe you participated in Try Out Day. All those things add up."

You can also include minutes from such things as yard work or even house cleaning.

"If you've been out in the garden or you've been on a beautiful walk by the river, or maybe you were able to try something new this month, all those minutes count. We'd love to see anything that got you up and got you moving tracked as part of the Community Better Challenge."

Cochrane is currently in tenth place in Alberta.

The community named the most active in Canada will receive $100,000 to further enhance their recreational opportunities.

Fox also encourages people to come out to the Bike-a-Thon wrap-up celebration on July 3 at Cochrane Toyota from 12 noon to 1 p.m. The Bike-a-thon is part of the Community Better Challenge.
