The Hub Café & Wine has been a staple location in Sunset Ridge for the past four years for patrons to come and sit to enjoy everything from coffee and lattes to fresh-baked treats and appetizers. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the toll it has taken on Alberta’s economy, The Hub will close their doors forever on Friday, July 10, 2020.

Ernesto Lozano, owner of The Hub says that it has been an uphill battle for months “Well, COVID has slowed the economy and we stopped receiving customers for probably three months. Now the people are not coming out yet, so it continues to be very slow so we can't afford to, you know, pay rent and all the expenses that we have so that's why we close”

What’s next for Lozano and his family? “We have another company so that’s the focus right now, then we will see what's coming up next.”

“Thank you for the four great years. I will miss the community and I will miss everyone because we really love the people here in Cochrane”

The Hub Café & Wine joins Kimmer Country Market and The Avenue Cakery & Bakeshoppe in recent closures in Sunset Ridge.
