According to Rocky View Schools, as of Monday, March 8th Cochrane schools with active cases include Bow Valley High School, Cochrane High, and Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School.

Bow Valley High School remains under an "outbreak status" with numerous cases reported.

Rocky View Schools released the following statement saying "Just over half of the students are at home isolating and will engage in online learning until they are able to return to school as determined by Alberta Health Services. The school remains open for in-person classes and we look forward to welcoming our students and staff back when it is safe. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by COVID-19."

Also on Monday, Dr. Deena Hinshaw was asked if contact tracers had been able to find the source of the Bow Valley High School outbreak and if it could be traced to an indoor event?

Dr. Hinshaw replied, "There has been concern floated that may have happened but I haven't yet received information if that's been confirmed or not. What's really important to remember though is that what happens in that school-aged population it's critical that the behaviours not just inside of schools but outside of school are those that prevent the spread of COVID."

There are currently active alerts in 251 schools in the province which accounts for approximately 10% of provincial schools. There has been a total of 961 cases of COVID-19 in schools since January 11, 2021.
