When I ask my five-year-old daughter what she wants to be when she grows up she's quick to tell me that she wants to either be a mermaid, a unicorn or a pink ninja.

Not sure what the pay is like for any of those professions but they all sound like a lot of fun.

We all have career dreams at an early age but how many of us actually follow through with them?

I grew up in a home with two fuzzy TV channels with parents who were news junkies. I watched a TON of news growing up.

I remember thinking that you needed to be the smartest person on the planet to be the weather person and I thought there was nothing cooler than standing in front of a green screen and telling viewers what type of weather they could expect.

I also love to talk and I love to ask questions even more.

Fast forward thirty-ish years later and I'm living my childhood dream. Not on TV though. Turns out TV didn't actually interest me all that much during my very brief stint doing it. Radio is where it's at. It's still all the fun of TV, but you can go the grocery store and be unnoticed!!

When you were a kid, what did you want to grow up to be? Did you end up pursuing that childhood dream job?
