The Winnipeg Jets chipped away at a 3-1 first period lead by the Flames to come away with a 4-3 overtime win, last night.

The Flames kicked off their shortened NHL season on the road with their first of nine meetings with the Jets in the newly-formed northern division.

It was also the first night for Cochrane's Dillon Dube on the top line with Matthew Tkachuk and Elias Lindholm.

Dube chalked up an assist on the Flames' third goal when he fed the puck from the sideboard to Elias Lindholm in the high slot for a one-timer.

Dube scored the opening goal in three consecutive playoff games last season, setting a new club record. He also netted the first two goals in the opening game of their final series against the Dallas Stars that lead to a 3-2 win.

His playoff performance sparked the attention of the organization and fans alike. One fan from Down Under saluted Dube and his full playoff beard in a drawing with catchline, "Fear the Beard."

Saturday, the Flames returned to the Dome for their home opener against the Vancouver Canucks.
