Dr Deena Hinshaw took time in her update to recognize the actions taken by indigenous groups across the province who have acted quickly to protect their community members. Stoney Nakoda was one of the groups commended. "Stoney Nakoda, on Treaty Seven territory, helped to support their members by proactively creating a dedicated space for those who needed to isolate, but were unable to do so at home.Their isolation facility supports up to 150 individuals and nurses and other health providers are on hand to help support anyone isolating. While this facility has not yet been needed, it stands ready to make sure safe isolation in supported for anyone who should be ill. 

Dr Deena Hinshaw provided a COVID 19 numbers update for Wednesday, June 3.

  • 4997 tests were performed in the past 24 hours
  • 19 new cases
  • 344 active cases in the province
  • 48 people are in hospital with 6 in ICU 
  • Two deaths were reported
  • 6587 people have recovered in the province. 

Dr Hinshaw said that a confirmed date for phase two of the relaunch will be announced next week.
