The 54th Annual Cochrane Labour Day Parade has officially named the Elain Family as this year's Parade Marshals.

Tony and his sons Camille and Mike are well known for their businesses in Cochrane including Tony’s Shoe Repair, Donair on the Run, and Tony’s Work and Western Wear.

"It's very nice, the people in this town are almost like family," says Tony Elain.

"We love everyone in the community."

The Cochrane and Area Events Society (CAES) let Cochranites submit nominations for Parade Marshal this year. After receiving numerous votes for many businesses and individuals, the Elain Family shined brightest with their reputation of kindness in the community and western spirit.

In 1974, Tony established Tony's Shoe Repair in Calgary's Market Mall, where he repaired and sold western boots. In 1991, he relocated his company to Cochrane, and ever since, his family has grown as a pillar of the community.

"We're so thankful that we had the town vote for us and people were thinking of my dad" explains Mike. " It was such an honour to have been voted by people and we just love the town of Cochrane, we're so happy to be coming to work every day and seeing everybody, seeing our friends."

The family has big plans for their float design this year. Cochranites can see the Elain Family in the Labour Day Parade on Monday, September 5th at 10 a.m.
