There's no better way to watch a parade than with a belly full of pancakes.

The Cochrane Activettes are gearing up to host their annual pancake breakfast on Monday morning right before the Labour day parade kicks off.

Activettes President, Marcia Gilbertson says "We had a break two years ago, a COVID break, but apart from that we have done this for many, many years. We like to take it as our opportunity to be out in front of everyone in Cochrane on a great weekend and just be available and let people know what we do in the community."

"We suggest that people bring their lawn chairs and set up on the parade route, mark their spots and then come on over between 8:30 and 10, and have some pancakes with us and then you can get back to the parade route." says Gilbertson.

The Activettes are suggesting a donation of $3 per person or $10 for a family of four. That includes a full plate of flapjacks and sausages with a hot or cold beverage.

The breakfast goes from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the old Ford parking lot at the corner of Railway St. and Centre Ave.

Brock and Merry Jo Smith will be providing live entertainment at the event.
