The second annual Festival of Trees will bring holiday spirit to Cochrane.

A whiff of pine and twinkling lights will soon take over Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

The Cochrane Lionesses are hosting the Festival of Trees, offering local businesses a chance to put their decorating skills to the test.

Crystal Bohn, Cochrane Lioness, Director, started this event in Cochrane and is excited to see not only the creative decorated trees but the sense of community it creates.

A $200 sponsorship secures your tree for the festival.

"The Lionesses will supply a 7 foot pre-lit Christmas tree, with the sponsor supplying their own decorations.  We encourage everyone to be creative and use it as a chance to showcase their business. All money raised will be donated back to the community."

Judging will take place by the public throughout December with the winner receiving an award and bragging rights until the next year.

The Cochrane Activettes will be on hand collecting non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys for the 'Share Your Christmas Campaign', as well as tree ornaments

The month long event kicks off December 3 with Santa and festive fun. If your company is interested in sponsoring and decorating a tree, click here.
