While the warmer and drier weather this week may feel like a welcomed treat, it has contributed to an increased fire risk throughout Rocky View County (RVC).

Due to dry and windy conditions, RVC Fire Services has issued a County-wide Fire Ban effective immediately.

All burning and fireworks permits are suspended, and burning is banned, with the following exceptions:

  • Indoor household fireplaces
  • Camp stoves (properly attended)
  • Barbecues (charcoal briquettes, propane, or natural gas)
  • Wood pellet grills
  • Propane/natural gas fire pit
  • Oil well flaring

County officials advise that the fire ban will remain in effect as long as high-risk persist in the area.
