Students and staff at Fireside School won't be headed into the classroom on Monday morning.

A letter was sent out to parents and guardians of students of Fireside School on Saturday, it states that Rocky View Schools requested and received approval from Alberta Education to temporarily move all students at Fireside School to at-home learning starting on Monday, May 3.

In-school classes will resume on Monday, May 10.

This decision was made because of the recent positive COVID-19 cases at the school that has impacted a large number of potential close contacts at the school.

As a result there are a lot students and staff members required to isolate.

The letter states that students will be provided with a weekly learning plan as well as opportunities to connect with their teachers and classmates virtually.

Families and students will be contacted before Monday, May 3 and given more details on how the temporary online learning will work.
