Dan Cunin has once again become the first town council candidate to file nomination papers for the fall municipal election.

Cunin came within nine votes of being elected to council in 2017.

He prides himself on taking the time to listen to people. It may seem early to most to start campaigning now, but Cunin says it's part of a conscious strategy.

He knocked on every door for the 2013 election and came close in 2017.

"I've said right from the start, my job is to listen to people and hear their ideas, bring them forth, and be their voice in council. The best way to do that is to go out and talk to people. To do that, I like the one-to-one avenue a whole lot better, which will be interesting with the COVID challenge."

Cunin has outlined his three priorities for Cochrane on his website, which can be found here.  He wants to keep us safe, save us money, and help make your ideas a reality.

October 18 is election day for Alberta municipalities and school divisions. Nomination papers are being accepted until Sept. 20.
