As of Thursday, February 10, nearly 3.4 million Albertans aged 12 and older have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Additionally, 86.3 per cent of Albertans 12 and older have now received two doses.

To date, 226,400 pediatric vaccines (first and second doses) have been administered to children aged five to eleven.

Health Minister Jason Copping says, “My thanks go out to the Albertans who have stepped up to get immunized. Every dose administered not only protects individuals but also our communities at large and the capacity of our health-care system. It’s also important to follow up with a second dose when you’re eligible to ensure the best possible protection for yourself and others.”

Officials continue to emphasize the importance of getting a booster vaccine shot. Booster doses are available for everyone 18 and older who received their second dose at least five months ago.

Albertans aged 18 and older who have immunocompromising conditions are eligible for a fourth vaccine dose five months after their third dose.

Bookings can be made AHS booking system, by calling 811, or at participating pharmacies.
