Four football players from the Cochrane High School will be representing Southern Alberta at the 27th Annual Senior Bowl.

This program features the top graduating grade 12's from Alberta High Schools broken up into North vs. South competition.

Defensive Lineman Justin Sambu, Offensive Lineman Michael Scott, and Slot Back Receivers Eric Nusl and Evan Perrault, will join 39 other top senior players in Southern Alberta to face off against a Northern Alberta team.

Cochrane Cobras coach, Robbie McNabb, thinks the boys will be up against some stiff competition.

“These kids are pretty special, in the north and in the south, so it’s going to be a fast heavy paced game. I’ve coached in it a number of times, a lot of these kids go on to play university football, and even play pro.”

Mcnabb said the boys have been working hard to prepare, and he’s confident they’ll be successful.

“They’ll do well, they’re prepared, we have a pretty intense program here, and they’ve all been in the weight room. They’re all doing their respective responsibility to get ready for this game.”

Justin Sambu will play for the Calgary Colts next year, while Eric Nusl and Michael Scott will play for the University of Calgary.

The Alberta Senior Bowl will take place May 23, at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium.
