The Cochrane Music Society is giving its second free performance of the week today, Saturday, July 24, at the Historic Cochrane Ranche site.

Starting at 2 p.m., the Band on the Bow will be performing a selection ideal for a summer afternoon in the park.

"It branches into a lot of different styles of music," says band director Adam Mailman. "Somethings you can sing along to, and some things are uplifting and just fun to hear."

The word is a "sweet" song that has become a standard at sports games is among them.

It follows a performance by Riverside Jazz that delighted a crowd at Centennial Plaza and passersby in the Historic Downtown.

It's been some time since we've been able to enjoy live performances by members of the Cochrane Music Society, and their Friday night selections were definitely crowd-pleasers.
