Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for several areas in southern Alberta including Cochrane. 

Extremely cold wind chill values of minus 40 will continue this morning and will be most extreme in the overnight and early morning hours. 

The extreme cold is expected to stick around for the rest of the week. 

When headed outdoors, we're being reminded to watch for cold related symptoms which include shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

If you're planning to head outside, it's advised that you dress warmly and in layers.

  • Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
  • Mountain View Co. near Sundre
  • Rocky View Co. near Airdrie and Crossfield
