The Cochrane Generals will be very busy for the next few weeks as training camp, practice, and exhibition games ramp up.

The Gen's training camp starts this Saturday Sep. 3, followed by practice next Tuesday Sep. 6, and Thursday Sep. 8, in preparation for three exhibition games over the weekend and the regular season.

Dan Gendur, Head Coach of the Cochrane Generals says besides playoffs this is the busiest time of year for the organization.

"Our season doesn't start until September 16, so the kids are going to be skating lots," he says. "Some if the rookies are going to be playing every exhibition game, whereas some of our best might have some time off. It is a really busy time for them"

Gendur shares the Gen's have high hopes for the 2016-2017 season, and a good chance at championships.

"We are going to be strong, we have 14 guys from our team last year that lost in game 6 of the League Finals, they're coming back. We've got a veteran team with lots of skill, we're trying to make a big push for a championship."

He says the organization is excited for the season, and with the players recruited to come play and veterans the team should have a good mix of skill and size.

The Cochrane Generals welcome to public to training camp, as well as exhibition games on Sep. 9, 10, and 11.
