Cochrane's generosity continued to shine in the most success Stuff-a-Bus event yet.

Marina Chabbert, acting president of the Cochrane Area Events Society, said it was heart-warming to see the huge quantity of new toys and other items contributed during the Dec. 14 event.

Items collected are used for the Cochrane Activettes' Share Your Christmas campaign.

"The generosity from everybody was amazing," says Chabbert. "We ended up filling one bus completely. Usually, it's below the window line, and this time it was above it. It was pretty impressive to see."

"It's unbelievable how the community pulls together. And it's not just this event; it happens throughout this whole initiative. We're not the only group that does this.

"We're just so proud to be part of it and to help in whatever way we can."

Volunteers of both CAES and the Cochrane Activettes were joined by members of town council, MP Blake Richards, and MLA Peter Guthrie.

Family New Year's Eve Celebration next

Up next for CAES is the launch of an inaugural Family New Year's Eve celebration at the Mitford Park on Dec. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m.

They'll be entertainment, games, a resolution tent, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and skating if weather conditions permit. Food will be available at a nominal charge.

The evening will be capped off with fireworks.
