The Cochrane Generals camp gets underway tomorrow but will no longer include an exhibition game against a University of Korea hockey team.

Head coach Kurtis Jones says it had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Korean team was only able to play one game against a Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) team while training in Calgary. They beat the Okotoks Bisons, 9-1, on Aug. 27.

Instead, the Gens have a Red and Blue intrasquad game on Sunday starting at 2 p.m.

Jones anticipated about 50 players will be participating in the camp that kicks off with two days of goalie practice on Aug. 31. The camp goes wide open on Sept. 2 and continues until Sept. 5.

While the exhibition game against a Korean team has been cancelled, fans won't have to wait too long to enjoy some gameplay.

The Gens have a home-and-home HJHL exhibition series against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder. Game one is in Airdrie on Sept. 9, and they return to the Cochrane Arena the next day for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.

The Gens open their regular season on the road with a rematch against the HJHL champion Okotoks Bisons on Sept. 16. The two battled it out in last year's HJHL championship series.

Their home opener is Sept. 24 against the High River Flyers.
