Gens head coach Kurtis Jones has insisted throughout the playoffs that the Gens have been dominating the play in their semifinal series against the Medicine Hat Cubs.

Last night, it showed up on the scoreboard.

In Medicine Hat, the Gens scored five unanswered goals in the first period to power to a 6-2 win over the Cubs.

With that, the Gens have bounced back from a 3-1 series deficit to force a showdown Wednesday night (Mar. 4) at the Cochrane Arena.

"We've deserved it the whole series, and now it finally came through," says Jones.

The Gens can't let their guard down now and have to come hard on Wednesday, he says.

"We've won the last two, but we need to win this last one here to keep going. We've got to play a little bit harder than we did tonight, and stay disciplined."

The Gens have adjusted their lines to spread their scoring strength, and it seems to have had an impact.

The Cubs became frustrated by the Gens' offensive prowess and started to load up the penalty box in the third period. This, though, isn't typical of the Cubs, says Jones. He equates their style to that of the Gens.

Whoever wins will be lacing up against the Okotoks Bisons in the south division final.

This semifinal series has lived up to its billing. It's has been fast-paced with close checking action and has seen goalies on both ends of the ice make spectacular saves.

Wednesday is not a game to miss.
