Game Three of the HJHL south semifinal series between the Cochrane Generals and Medicine Hat Cubs comes to the Cochrane Arena tonight, Sat. Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Last night, the Cubs scored in overtime at the Medicine Hat Kinplex to send the series back to Cochrane tied at one.

The Gens took a 2-0 lead at 7:14 of the second on a shorthanded goal by Diago Coelho from Jordan Butz before the Cubs staged a comeback on the strength of their powerplay.

Brady Mahar put the Cubs on the scoreboard in the second. With 25 seconds remaining, Cub Kyle Woolrdige scored on the powerplay to send the game into overtime. Vaughn Strutt notched the winner unassisted four minutes into extra time.

Andrew Guss was the other Gens scorer, assisted by Connor Stephenson.

In the other HJHL south division series, the Okotoks Bisons took a two-game lead in their best-of-seven series against the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. In the north, the Airdrie Thunder now have a 2-1 lead against the Mountainview Colts, and the Sylvan Lake Wranglers and Rocky Rams series is tied at one.
