The Cochrane Generals are 2-0 heading into this morning's game against the Beaumont Chiefs in the Alberta Jr. B Provincials and have already earned a berth into tonight's semifinals.

Last night, another late-game goal lifted the Gens to a 5-4 win over the St. Paul Canadians to keep them at the top of their pool.

Tristan Ripplinger and Patrick Forde teamed up once again for a goal almost identical to their game-winner against the Fort. St. John Huskies on Mar. 31. Forde tapped in a feed from Ripplinger deep in the Canadians' slot for the win.

On the strength of their record, the Gens are assured of a semifinal matchup. Exactly who they'll face will be determined in the final games of the round-robin. It will be either the first or second-place team in the other pool.

Currently, the Sherwood Park Knights and Okotoks Bisons are at the top of the other pool.
