For the sixth year in a row, Cochrane Area Events Society and the Cochrane Activettes are getting ready to 'Stuff A Bus'.

Marina Chabbert, Cochrane and Area Events Society, President, says the annual tradition brings in the most donations for the Activettes share your Christmas campaign.

"Last year was a very good year for Stuff a Bus, we raised a lot, we filled that bus to the brim. It really makes a big difference for the Activettes because it is one of their main fundraising and collection points for the Christmas program, it is one of the last ones of the year  to collect and try to fill those 200 plus baskets that they get requested every year to hand out."

Chabbert says donations are not limited to a certain age group as the baskets really do cover all ages.

"Everything from food, to presents, to gift cards, to clothing, anything that typically can go under a tree as a present is acceptable. They are also going to be accepting cash donations."

Cash donations are down this year from last says, Connie Craig, Cochrane Activettes, Secretary.

"We are hoping the Town of Cochrane can dig deep, as deep as they can; but we also realize, too, that a lot of people from Cochrane are having financial difficulties as well and we can only do what we can do."

Craig adds, one of the hardest age groups for the Activettes to cover is the teenage population.

"A lot of people have a hard time buying for the teenagers, so what we're asking for is gift cards to different stores. Walmart, Mark's, anywhere a teenager would shop.

You can drop off your unwrapped toy, non perishable food items, gift cards, or cash outside of the new Canadian Tire, December 10, from 11 am until 3 pm and stuff the bus.
