Despite the cold and snow, the turnout for the Hereabouts B&B open house on December 4 wasn't so little.

About 50 people stopped by for some warm homemade apple cider and great conversation about the new tiny house that will become a Bed and Breakfast in early January 2017.

Jackie Skrypnek, Hereabouts B&B Owner, says the reactions to the newest Cochrane tourist attraction were positive.

"Several people said 'I could live in something this size!' People like the feel and the aesthetics of it, the natural materials, and just the feeling like there's more space than they thought there would be."

The 247 square foot house fits 2 adults in a queen-sized bed and 2 small children in small adjacent loft beds. The house is equipped with a kitchenette and fully functioning bathroom with a shower.

The group rotated through getting a glimpse of the inside.

"As soon as you enter you can see the whole thing because it's that small. But people were welcome to come right in. It was just super nice to have the community involved and supportive."

At the end of the event one lucky winner was drawn for one free night stay at the little urban getaway.
