The Bow Valley Grizzlies now boast a 4-2 record for the season after pummeling the Calgary Hornets 98-0 on Saturday June 25.

The Calgary Hornets beat the team in semifinals last year, Tyler Hawes, head coach and Director of Rugby for the Bow Valley Rugby Club says it was good to get a 'W' against them.

"The boys played really well," he says . "To get that win on Saturday definitely was a confidence builder for the boys."

Hawes shares the Grizzlies came ready for a good game, and a new technique the team has been practicing was a big factor in the win.

"We've been working on this new system and it's going really well obviously, the boys were moving the ball around great and scoring tries. Defensively, it was pretty hard for them(the Hornets) to score, they didn't get a whole lot of ball that day."

The Grizzlies Play a division 3 game tonight against the Barbarians at Mitford Ponds.

They will also compete in an exhibition game next week against a touring team from the UK.
