The band has been announced and the pieces are coming together for the brand new 567 Corner Classic show and shine on July 23 that will offer plenty of family fun and eye candy while supporting our veterans.

Besides a chance to view some incredible rides, there's food, beer gardens, a 50-50 draw, and entertainment by Route 22.

Sean Veraart, one of the organizers, says it's combining two shows previously held at the Springhill RV Park on the corner of Hwy. 567 and Hwy. 22.

It's called the 567 Corner Classic and includes cars, trucks and something brand new to the event, motorcyles.

"One of the board members has a charity bike club, and so we just started talking about incorporating the bikes and we all decided it was a great route to take," says Veraat.

As in the past, there'll be trophies awarded in several categories.

Commitments have already been received from Outcast and the Big Rig Warriors Lucky 13 Racing to attend, and you can be sure more will follow.

It starts on the evening of Friday, July 22 with a beer garden and barbecue. On Saturday, vehicle registration opens at 8 a.m., and the show runs from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Helping our veterans through the Cochrane branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is at the heart of the event. Cash donations and nonperishables are both welcomed.

Like elsewhere, it's the first one in several years.

"We're super excited to get all these cars out and have a pretty good showing because a lot of other people are kind of itching to get back to some normalcy. We're going to have lots of fun."

Cochrane's Venue Bar and Grill has a big role in the event. They're providing the band, and running the barbecue and beer gardens,

Veraat says the event will go ahead, rain or shine.
