A reminder that the Friends of Fireside Fundraising Society are hosting a party at Mitford Park tomorrow (August 26).

President Laura McDonald, says it will be a great opportunity for parents and kids to say goodbye to summer and hello to back to school.

"We are having a big fundraising party. Starting at 12 o'clock we will have bouncy castles, face painting, 4Cat Art is going to be there. We have food coming from Menchies, Save On Foods, we'll have games, carnival games for kids to play for loonies and toonies, we have a silent auction, vendor market, and this for anyone in Cochrane...any community can come on down."

McDonald was amazed and inspired by how the business community in Cochrane has stepped up to support the fundraising initiative. "They have been so generous. The response to our silent auction table has been incredible, businesses providing food that we can sell for a very small amount of money, and the whole point of tomorrow is to really kick off our fundraising for the new playground up in Fireside."

The Friends of Fireside are hoping to raise $5,000 from tomorrow's event which helps them get one step closer to their inclusive playground.

Seeing such generosity, McDonald, is reminded what Cochrane is all about. "I can't tell you what a pleasure it has been to go from business to business and inquire about any big or small way that they would be willing to help us. It has been so fun to do and they have actually made it really easy on us, and I can't them enough."

The End of Summer Party will be held from noon to 4 tomorrow.
