The Coldest Night Of The Year ‘21 is being held here in Cochrane tomorrow night. The fundraising event is being put on by the Helping Hands Society of Cochrane & Area to raise awareness for the hurt, the hungry, and the homeless. With just about 24-hours left before participants begin their walk all over Cochrane, Helping Hands has already surpassed its goal of raising $30,000.

Chairra Nicolle, The Executive Director for Helping Hands Society says the generosity of Cochranites is incredible.”Initially, we weren't even sure if we could make a $20,000 mark and we are right now at $37,000. So that's amazing!”

“Really, the thing for our team is how many people have signed up to walk and how many teams we have. Our team goal was 15 teams, we're at 34 teams, and we had a goal for 150 walkers and we are at 184 walkers, so we're super excited to make this a community event. The funds are amazing and will go into such a good cause, but the fact that we can actually celebrate as a community and do this virtually where everybody walks with their own cohort is just so exciting for us.”

There is still time to support participants or make a team of walkers for The Coldest Night Of The Year.
