The end of the 14-day quarantine was a literal breath of fresh air for the 41 players remaining at Canada’s national junior team selection camp. They're now back on the ice in Red Deer to make their final push towards the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Thirty-four players continue to vie for a spot on the 25-player roster for the IIHF Junior World Championships being hosted at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Among them is Bragg Creek's Dylan Holloway, who returned to Canada from Wisconsin for the selection camp, where he plays for the NCAA Wisconsin Badgers.

Today, Hockey Canada announced the release of seven players from the camp.

Released were goaltenders Brett Brochu and Tristan Lennox, and forwards Adam Beckman, Tyson Foerster, Hendrix Lapierre, Cole Schwindt, and Shane Wright

The camp continues until Dec. 13.

The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship begins on Christmas Day with three games before Canada kicks off its tournament schedule on Dec. 26 against Germany at 6 p.m.
