The Cochrane and Area Humane Society received a generous donation to aid all the animals currently in their care. Home Treasures presented a cheque to CAHS on Thursday morning for the amount of $5,000.

CAHS executive director Janine Rosler says this donation will go a long way. “It means so much, on so many levels. Another local organization doing charity work of their own and has initiatives to support other local nonprofits in their missions in their work. We truly need the support and appreciate the support.”

“$5,000 is going to go such a long way in helping us care for the close to 200 animals that we have at the shelter at the moment and that just continued to come through the doors.”

Every animal that comes through the shelter gets a full medical examination and care that includes microchipping, parasite control, and vaccinations.

“They needed help, and this is our way of giving back.” says Barbra Primeau with Home Treasures.

Home Treasures is a non-profit that accepts donations from community members, which they then sell in their storefront. Money raised is put right back into the Cochrane community.
