It looks like Cochrane residents can expect a boost in internet speeds and mobile connectivity in the future. Telus has announced a $54 million investment to Cochrane.

This will create several new job opportunities as well as increase internet speeds for residents and businesses. Cochrane will also see an expansion in wireless connectivity with the investment ensuring the town will be ready for 5G.

“The investment by TELUS demonstrates investors’ renewed confidence in Alberta. 5,000 family-supporting jobs will be created across our province over the next five years and many of those jobs will positively impact Cochrane directly. The 54 million dollar investment in Cochrane will support better connectivity for agriculture technology, provide a better connection to fast Fibre network, and provide better access to healthcare technology,” said Peter Guthrie, MLA for Airdrie-Cochrane.
