Momentum is building for the return of a full complement of Footstock races on June 5.

While registrations will be accepted up until the event, race director Meredith McMorran says there's one important day you'll want to circle on your calendar.

May 13th is the cutoff to guarantee you'll receive a coveted Footstock t-shirt plus a whole bunch of race swag.

"It's important because I'm sure people want to proudly wear their Footstock t-shirts around town," she says.

There may be extras available for those who register afterward, but there's no guarantee.

For over 20 years, Footstock has played host to hundreds of eager race participants, excited fans, and dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers from the community and across Alberta.

Designed as a race for both fitness enthusiasts and recreational runners, you can choose your favourite distance, and cheer on family and friends as they compete.

There are 5, 10, and 18 k solo race events for adults.

The 18k corporate/family relay challenge is for a three-person team. It's divided into distances of 10k, 5k, and 3k.

"We did it that way, hoping there's a distance for everyone. That way, almost anyone can put together a group of either work colleagues, friends, or family members and compete in our Cochrane Corporate Challenge."

McMorran says they're closing in on 200 registrants for the triathlon. That's down from pre-pandemic numbers.

"We're going to put on a fantastic event for those little junior triathletes, and we'd love to see more of them."

Also back is the fun festive atmosphere. They'll be food for the runners and volunteers, a performance by Cool Choir Cochrane, vendors, and local massage therapists and chiropractors will be available to assist runners post-race.

To make the event a success, Footstock relies upon a team of 200-plus amazing volunteers They welcome more people to step forward.
