With the town closing its offices for a Day of Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II, some residents may be confused as to whether the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC)  is open on Monday.

The answer is yes, it's business as usual.

The family sports centre is operated by the Spray Lake Sawmills Recreation Park Society and is a separate entity from the town.

Because of the nature of their business, Michelle Everett, sales and marketing manager, explained in advance of the town's announcement that they would only close if it was declared a statutory holiday by the province.

Yesterday, Premier Jason Kenny declared a provincial day of mourning but fell short of making it a statutory holiday.

Rocky View Schools and the Calgary Catholic School District have also confirmed regular classes will be held on Monday.
