The powerhouse genre-blending duo Jenesia is featured in the dynamic relaunch of St. Andy's on Jan. 22.

Tickets are now available for purchase, and just could be the Christmas gift you were seeking for some special people in your life.

The duo of Jenesa and Alexander MacMullin will be taking the live music series down a different path than it's ventured in the past; Jenesa with her sultry knockdown vocals, Alexander's with his mastery of strings. Together, they used a combination of jazz, blues, folk, and rock to connect with their audience.

While St. Andy's has offered a wide variety of performers, it's been heavily been based upon presenting a country-roots sound, with the occasional exception. That's not what you'll get with Jenesia.

Goodship first heard them at a showcase in 2019 and booked them immediately. He's been patiently waiting for the opportunity to bring them to Cochrane.

"They've got kind of this rock roots sound, and her voice is amazing," says Goodship.

Indications are, they'll be bringing a band.

Recognized for their compelling story-driven and intelligent lyrics, Jenesa stands out from the current musical climate. In addition to upbeat and romantic melodies, they offer songs that tackle such difficult issues as poverty, addiction, child sexual abuse, and domestic violence with a tact and authenticity that doesn't overwhelm.

Drawing on personal experience, they use their music as a platform for awareness and justice, endeavouring to become a voice for the voiceless. Jenesia truly has an innate gift for transforming tragedy into something beautiful.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased on the St. Andy's website. To purchase yours and learn about other upcoming concerts, visit here.
