Wednesday, May 31 is the deadline for those 50 and over to scoop up free tickets for the Pie and Poetry event being held on June 8, courtesy of the Stockmen's Memorial Foundation.

Participants will enjoy live music, cowboy poetry, pie, and Mackay's ice cream in the Chinook Dining Room of the Cochrane RancheHouse, 101 RancheHouse Rd.

Special guests include Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen Kyla Lightfoot and the RCMP.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the event runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is the Stockmen's way of saluting our seniors during their special week, explains Stockmen's executive director Scott Grattidge. He says tickets have been going fast and there are only a few spots remaining that must be claimed no later than tomorrow.

They are available through the Stockmen's Memorial Foundation, public library, FCSS, or Seniors on the Bow.

You can also call the Stockmen's at 403-932-3782.
