The Cochrane Public Library has been offering a summer reading program in conjunction with TD Canada Trust for years. COVID 19 of course has altered the way things are being done but the program continues!

According to Community Outreach and Program Librarian, Andrea Johnston, the main part of the reading program is online through the TD website click here but the fun doesn't stop there!

She says, "We still want to encourage and reward our readers! We have brought back our treasure chest so those who are a part of the Club can get rewarded just by reading! We also have tracking sheets that young Cochranites can use to track how long they’ve read: read for an hour, get a prize! Fill the sheet up, enter your name for a grand prize draw! It’s that easy."

Something new the Cochrane Library has added this year is, readers can now choose what grand prizes they want to put their names in for! A full listing of their grand prizes can be found online at https://cochranepubliclibrary.ca/Special-Events/TD-Summer-Reading-Club-2020.

While readers are required to register online if you are unable to do so, just head down to the library and they will get you set up. Tracking what is read can be done offline using fun tracking sheets which can be picked up at the library.

While the summer reading program may look a little different this year it is still fun and a great way to promote literacy.
