As we breathe in the fall air and enjoy all the beautiful shades around us, we`re also tasked with raking up mountains of leaves.

It can be quite the undertaking and leaving Cochrane residents scrambling to keep up with yard maintenance.

Fabrizio Bertolo is the Manager of Waste & Recycling with the Town of Cochrane and he`s reminding residents that there are a couple of options when it comes to disposing of that fall foliage.

"First of all, everybody has a Green Bin. The Green Bin is still collected on a weekly basis," says Bertolo. "If you still have leaves and you cannot wait until the next week to use your Green Bin, feel free to come to the Eco Centre. We have a grass and leaves bin; a huge one, for your extra leaves."

Green Bin collection will continue on a weekly basis until the end of October and will move to a bi-weekly collection in November.

Bertolo says that there's no limit on the amount of leaves you can drop off at the town's Eco Centre. The Eco Centre is open on Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
