Conservative leader Erin O'Toole has announced his 43 member shadow cabinet.

O'Toole promoting Lianne Rood to the role of Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food. 

Rood had served as the Deputy Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food since her election in  October 2019.

 Rood represents the Ontario riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, she grew up on a vegetable farm in Grand Bend, Ontario. 

Prior to her election in 2019, Rood worked in Ottawa and served as a Special Assistant to Gerry Ritz, the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.  

She also served as Assistant to David Anderson in his roles as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources. 

She helped to develop and pass the Marketing Freedom for Grain Farmers Act, Bill C-18.
