A new feature to the Cochrane Public Library is the Pollinator Garden in the Penelope West Reading Garden.

Thanks to funding from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, pollinator plants native to the prairie ecosystem along with an insect water dish, hummingbird feeder, and garden equipment were purchased. Then with the help of library staff and volunteers the relaxing green space was planted and set up with the thought of supporting the local ecosystem being top of mind.

The Pollinator Garden will also serve as a starting point for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics).

The Cochrane Public Library is looking for garden volunteers to help maintain the special space. If you are interested, you can call the library at 403-932-4353.

Of course, everyone is welcome to visit and sit in the garden green space.
