Another 1,731 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in our province on Sunday, including three more deaths.

All of the deaths included underlying health conditions: a man in his 40s in the South zone, a woman in her 80s in the Calgary zone and a man in his 60s in the Calgary zone.

Of the 1,731 new cases, 1,132 are variant cases. 

Here in Cochrane the number of active cases grew from 183 cases on Saturday to 198 cases on Sunday. 

Rocky View County is sitting at 227 active cases.

Across Alberta, there are currently 648 people in hospital, with 155 of them in intensive care.

There are currently 22,920 active cases in our province.

The province said 1,621,306 vaccine doses were administered by May 1, which means 300,755 Albertans are fully immunized.
